Sharon Stone on Aging and Sexuality

by Linda Franklin

Sharon Stone on Aging and Sexuality Linda Franklin, The Real Cougar WomanSharon Stone has never been the shy type so when she talked about aging and sexuality now that she’s 55 I was curious to what she had to say.

And,  even at 55, she has  no problem attracting younger men in a town that worships youth.  She is not alone – women tell me the same thing all the time.  Older woman have a special je ne sais quoi that’s quite intoxicating.

“It’s not like fifty is the new thirty. It’s like fifty is the new chapter. We know so much at this age, and people realize we’re the ones with experience. We’re a very colorful generation that is leading once again.

People are afraid of changing; that they’re losing something. They don’t understand that they are also gaining something.

I thought I lost the deep vortex on my eyelid that you have when you’re younger, but I gained almost a kind of beautiful abyss. As I lost the fullness in my face, I got in these great cheekbones. I can’t tell you how many doctors try to sell me a facelift. I’ve even gone as far as having someone talk me into it, but when I went over and looked at pictures of myself, I thought, “What are they going to lift?”

Yes, I have come close – but, frankly, I think that in the art of aging well there’s this sexuality to having those imperfections. It’s sensual.”

I feel more beautiful and sensual today than I did at 22…older women turn me on”.

There you have it.  Love yourself no matter what age you are.  When you do – others will too.

Carmen Dell’Orefice – Living Large at 81

Carmen Dell'Orefice - Is Living Large at 81 Linda Franklin. The Real Cougar WomanAt 81, Carmen Dell’Orefice walked the Norisol Ferrari Spring / Summer 2013 show during New York Fashion Week on Monday.

“I don’t know if it’s good or silly,” she told TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager of her current modeling career. “It’s what I enjoy doing, and I’m able to do it.”

In my opinion, that’s not silly at all.   Loving what you do, not taking life too seriously, and realizing each day has something wonderful to capture is the secret to living the dream.  She is a wonderful example of what all of us dream of achieving – True Happiness.

Carmen says,  “I think America may be growing up and accepting the fact that the bulk of life exists beyond 50. Because demographically … the vast population is over 50″.

Yes, she admits to getting some help with her looks – admitting to using fillers, with the philosophy, “If your ceiling was falling down, wouldn’t you fix it?”

I don’t know Carmen personally but I do know a good friend of hers.  My friend is a wonderful women who is also in her 80’s.  She is my inspiration. She doesn’t think about age or let it stop her from doing whatever she wants to do.  Last year she went on safari to Africa and this year has already planned her Christmas holiday trip to Havana.  She works out at the gym twice a week with the energy of a 35 year old.  And, she loves driving around in her Silver Bullet – a 1966 Mustang convertible – top down.

These two women prove to me the limitless value of living in the moment and the excitement of trying and enjoying new things without fear or reservation.  They don’t fight getting older because their curiosity and vitality keep them tuned in to what’s important.  Both of these women illustrate beautifully what it means to be a Real Cougar.

by Linda Franklin – The Real Cougar Woman

Mid life sexy What is it about polling companies and middle-aged women? It seems that scarcely a day passes without seeing a survey on some aspect of the middle-aged female experience. Maybe we should feel grateful, because according to the latest survey, pollsters are the only people who find ladies of a certain age even slightly interesting.

The latest revelation comes from a survey of 2,000 women who feel that 46 is the age that they become invisible to men.

Cougar Women Use These Tips When Buying Clothes

Kim Parrish October 2009-1 Aging Gracefully?  Forget about it.  There’s nothing graceful or fun about finding clothing for our ever-shifting body.

As we hit our 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s we start noticing things that we never realized before. Getting dressed can be a real ordeal especially trying to hide that dreaded muffin top. The trick at this stage of our lives is to become “high maintenance” when picking out our wardrobe.  You always want to have a polished look.

Here are some valuable tips I have put together to help you when you are out  shopping and when you are getting dressed.  I use them myself and incorporate many of them when putting together my fashion line.

  • Skirts should fall at or just above the knee for the best silhouette
  • Show your sex appeal by investing in sassy designer shoes
  • Embrace the dress!  They look good on all figure types and don’t cling like a pair of slacks
