Living Alone – Not a Bad Thing

by Linda Franklin

Living-alone-and-loving-it Linda Franklin The Real Cougar WomanIf you’re living alone you are not in the minority.  In New York City, and other big cities, 50% of the population lives alone. The numbers do not include single mothers, just single dwellers.

I don’t know if this surprises you, but these single dwellers are satisfied with being single.  Like everything else, living alone has its advantages, but also some drawbacks.  Friends I have talked to really missed the close contact of cohabitation with another person.  As we pass through different stages in our lives, our needs criteria changes.

Research shows men marry within 3 years of divorce. The explanation is that they cannot take good care of themselves. Sounds about right from my observations. Women, on the other hand, take care of their home, their children, their grandchildren and work without missing a beat.  We are women hear us ROAR!

Let’s be real, if the field of male possibilities was strewn with men who were smart, independent, financially secure and healthy – then maybe you’d really miss having one of these gems of your own.  But, I haven’t heard many women tell me that they are meeting many keepers.

Yes, it’s really nice to be someone’s #1. But, if you can’t someone who you would like to by your #1, then maybe it’s better to live alone, but still keeping an open mind and heart.

The Real Cougar Woman is a 5-carat diamond who knows the importance of taking care of her health, beauty, relationships, finances and spirituality. Linda Franklin says,”there is no stopping a woman who has a strong belief system, passion and a dream. All things are possible”. Linda’s book, Don’t Ever Call Me Ma’am helps women of all ages tap into their power and live life to the fullest.
