Dallas Cheerleaders Audition A 55 Year Old Cougar Granny Linda Franklin The Real Cougar Womanby Linda Franklin

Sharon Simmons, the almost-famous cheerleading grandmother from Texas, has finally fulfilled her lifelong dream.

Since she was a young, single mother, the voracious fitness enthusiast from Carollton has put her desire to audition for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on the ‘back-burner’ to focus on her children.

But now, at the age of 55, Ms Simmons has just entered the first round of auditions for the beloved state team and shown the world that ‘age ain’t nothing but a number’.

I’m sexy and I know it: Sharon Simmons, a 55-year-old fitness competitor auditioned for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading squad last weekend fulfilling a lifelong dream.

No stranger to competition, Ms Simmons has won nine first place titles on the competitive fitness circuit over the past five years and looked every bit as lively and able-bodied as her 20-something counterparts this past weekend.

The opportunity to try out for what is arguably the best cheerleading squad in America comes more than 30 years after her first flirtation with the idea. At the age of 22, Ms Simmons recruited the help of her mother to take photographs in preparation for auditions but facing the disappointing reality that she had neither the right outfit nor a good enough routine, she never made it to the try-outs.

Instead the dedicated single mother, went back to school, gaining a Master’s from Texas Baptist University and pursuing a career in commercial real estate.

Now at 55, the fabulousc granny looked at home dancing in front of the judges surrounded by girls half her age.  Sporting a skimpy hot pink two-piece bra and hot pants with glittering sequins, she revealed an enviable six-pack and impressively toned legs.

You go girl!!
