Women are constantly on the go. We endure a long and hectic day at work, make sure our home is in a decent state and – on top of all of this – worry about how our family will survive in the current economic climate. All of these factors are putting more stress on our bodies than we think. So, the question we all need to ask ourselves is 'what's all this stress really doing to my body'?
To answer this question, I’ll be covering the issue of stress over the next few blogs. There are many serious health problems that can be caused as a result of stress, and that's why I’ll really be diving into the topic of stress and how it affects you.
When it comes to assessing the severity of stress in your life, there’s one question you need to ask yourself first and foremost:
Do I get that common, mid-day “low” sometime between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. that sends me running for a cup of coffee, a soda or a sweet snack?
If you answered yes, you may not only be stressed, you may already be in one of the stages of adrenal fatigue!
Stress affects women differently and can affect you in more ways than you think. Of course adrenal fatigue can be a result of being stressed, but did you know that thyroid problems and diabetic issues as well as issues with your weight, libido, sleep and hormones can all be affected by stress?
Next time I will follow up on the different stages of stress, how stress can affect your weight, sleep and love life, and the different techniques you can do to de-stress your life. You can see why this is so important and is something every woman needs to know.
