Cougar Women Use These Tips When Buying Clothes

Kim Parrish October 2009-1 Aging Gracefully?  Forget about it.  There’s nothing graceful or fun about finding clothing for our ever-shifting body.

As we hit our 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s we start noticing things that we never realized before. Getting dressed can be a real ordeal especially trying to hide that dreaded muffin top. The trick at this stage of our lives is to become “high maintenance” when picking out our wardrobe.  You always want to have a polished look.

Here are some valuable tips I have put together to help you when you are out  shopping and when you are getting dressed.  I use them myself and incorporate many of them when putting together my fashion line.

  • Skirts should fall at or just above the knee for the best silhouette
  • Show your sex appeal by investing in sassy designer shoes
  • Embrace the dress!  They look good on all figure types and don’t cling like a pair of slacks

  • Don’t hang matching suits together in your closet.  Break them up to create versatility and interest
  • Don’t worry if your handbag doesn’t match your shoes.  That’s an outdated rule!!
  • Don’t be afraid to mix prints.  Just make sure there’s a common color to tie the look together!
  • Don’t shy away from metallics.  They’re not just for evenings and holidays.  They’re fresh!
  • Find a perfect dark wash jean and wear it with a bling-top for a great evening look.
  • Don’t wear your workout shoes with jeans.  Keep those sneakers in the gym and wear a sassy heel.
  • Don’t overexpose.  It can actually age you.
  • Don't be afraid to be adventurous.  Real Cougar Woman always want to look fabulous.
