Combat Cougar Makeover Rocked Maine

The Combat Cougars in Maine are beyond fabulous.  Last Saturday it was so much fun to watch these beautiful women - presently serving, vets and military spouses, get the royal treatment compliments of  Impulse Salon in Auburn, Maine. The owner, Jennifer Foster-Kritzer, a vet herself, pulled out all the stops providing new hair styles, color, cuts, manicures, makeup and Reiki healings.

 

 

 

But wait it gets better. Jackie Ward, from the NBC affiliate in Portland came to film a segment for the evening news.  From the moment Jackie arrived she felt the strong positive energy of the group. She not only knew, but could feel, the importance of The Shining Service message – -Appreciation and Support for our women in the military. 

NYPD Cougars – New York City’s Bravest Women

I recently had the honor of presenting our “shining service bracelet” to a beautiful NYPD policewoman. These bracelets honor all women in service and  NYC’s bravest females sure fit that bill. 

I was attending a Rotary Club lunch where New York City’s Police Commissioner Ray Kelly was speaking. As an added bonus we got to cheer on one of his officers who was receiving his medal of honor. Hearing Commissioner Kelly tell us of the herculian efforts by his force to keep all of us safe was quite emotional.

Did you know that New York is the safest big city in America?  That’s quite remarkable since our police force has  been cut serverly during these tough economic times.

The thing about our “shining service bracelets” is they are a beautiful way to show our appreciation and support to all of the women in uniform and all the wives who are  supporting their husbands.  We can never forget the spouses. They have a huge responsibility of holding familities together so in book book they are heroes too.
